My clients (often with input from their families) are the driving force throughout the therapy process. Establishing rapport and building a trusting relationship is crucial to success for the client.
I primarily work with children and adolescents, though I do work with adults as well. I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy, family therapy, mindfulness techniques, strengths-based techniques and coping strategies along with a trauma informed approach to assist clients to reach goals. Sessions generally take place outside of school hours (evenings and weekends).
Starting therapy can be an intimidating, but the first session often alleviates worry as we collaboratively discuss concerns and establish goals.
