Please note: Online sessions are available only to Illinois residents.
CCC’s online counselors and therapists provide the same specialty-based clinical services and psychotherapy as they do with their office-based clients. Although many prefer an in-person connection, our fast-paced world with its scheduling conflicts can make that difficult to happen. Counseling in Inverness, Schaumburg, Hoffman Estates, Palatine, Rolling Meadows, South Barrington, and other Illinois communities that we serve can be further impeded by traveling pressures or inclement weather; our e-therapy counseling services make care available to people who might not otherwise be able to benefit from therapy services. It can also contribute to more consistent continuation of care in the case of anxiety counseling and similar.
All a client needs for online therapy (telehealth) are a webcam on their computer or mobile device, and a reliable internet connection. Seeing a seasoned CCC psychotherapy specialist is only a few simple mouse clicks away.
Online counseling services occur through a completely secure and confidential, HIPPA-compliant video conferencing portal. Our office staff will explain how and what to do, so that getting online is easy.
Online counseling (a.k.a.telehealth) may be appropriate for either individual online therapy or couples counseling for clients who cannot make it into our therapist office due to a variety of challenges. It is an ideal option for couples who need the convenience and flexibility of its format and accessibility. Counseling can be particularly difficult to follow through with due to unpredictable winter weather and the treacherous traveling conditions. These dangers make this type of psychotherapy idyllic, and often safer, and a great option even if just occasionally, for anxiety counseling.
Our online therapy is live, meaning that your counselor is speaking to you in real time so you can have a normal conversation flow for an established period of time. E-therapy sessions conducted over a non-specific time frame are called asynchronous, meaning that the client and therapist respond to each other when they happen to be logged into an online therapy communication platform. We believe that our live e-therapy sessions provide you with the best online therapy experience and produce superior results in less time for clients.
While taking into account the client’s needs and comfort level, we tend to recommend that the first session be in person, at the CCC therapist office. We know this can be especially difficult for people needing certain kinds of anxiety counseling, and although strongly recommended, it is not necessary. During this “get to know each other” session, both the client and the therapist would determine if online therapy is best for the situation while exploring how well matched the therapist and client are.
