Ewa’s clients describe her as kind, genuine, and engaging. She strives to create a trusting and non-judgmental therapeutic environment to help clients feel safe and comfortable addressing even the most challenging mental health concerns. At times, she uses humor and a down-to-earth approach to help connect with clients and put them at ease during therapy sessions. Because of Ewa’s obvious caring nature, she establishes rapport and builds respect with her clients quickly. She is adept at making a ll clients, independent of their age, feel relaxed, valued, and hopeful for their future.
Ewa (pronounced “Eva”) takes an integrative approach to therapy using a variety of techniques such as CBT, Motivational Interviewing, DBT, and Solution Focused Brief Therapy. Ewa believes clients’ experience of therapy is unique and that they seek treatment for a wide array of issues thus she finds it important to tailor her practice to find the best fit for each client. By applying a variety of counseling approaches and methodologies, Ewa is able to help clients develop healthy coping skills, i mproving their ability to function, and begin making positive changes in their lives. She works hard to facilitate feelings and beliefs of empowerment, self-acceptance and confidence, all of which are necessary to overcoming personal, social, mental health, and/or substance abuse problems.
Ewa provides psychotherapy to adolescents and adults of all ages. She has worked in inpatient mental health and a residential substance abuse treatment prior to beginning her focus on private practice where she provides both individual and group therapy. Ewa’s skills as a Certified Nursing Assistant allows her a unique perspective on caring for those who are unable to care for themselves. This experience gives evidence to her compassion for those struggling with loss of independence, physical he alth and the mental and emotional impact on both the patient and their family.
As a mental health and addiction specialist, Ewa is dedicated to neutralizing barriers of social stigma and shame associated with these challenges. For over 6 years, Ewa has helped individuals, families and couples affected by substance abuse and all forms of addiction. She encourages her clients to dig deep and discover underlying issues related to relationships, self-esteem, trauma, and feelings of loneliness that feed their addiction and prevents them from making meaningful and positive chang es. She is a skilled practitioner with drug and behavioral addictions such as gambling, eating, spending, etc.
Ewa’s passion for struggles surrounding infertility led her to complete specialized training and received a Mental Health Professional Certificate in Infertility from The American Society for Reproductive Medicine(ASRM). Ewa is knowledgeable and sensitive to unique issues that many women and their partners face while dealing with infertility. Ewa is skilled in helping her clients cope with and mange feelings of anxiety, depression, discouragement, and grief they may experience as they attempt to succeed in their desire to have a child.
Ewa also finds working with older adults extremely rewarding and fulfilling. She has a great amount of respect and admiration for the elderly and their unique challenges involved in facing mortality, declining physical and cognitive health, as well as loneliness and isolation. Working with an aging population has given her unique insight both professionally and personally. Older adults have an abundance of wisdom and life experiences that help put things in perspective and improve awareness of t he value and worth of one’s life.
Ewa’s other specialties include anxiety, depression, and self-esteem. She also works with clients who experience grief and loss and those facing complications adjusting to new life circumstances.
